The new Dairy Hygiene brochure < https://bit.ly/37Ksney> contains the full overview of dairy detergent and teat care product ranges available through Glanbia. These products have been specifically chosen by the Glanbia Ireland (GI) Milk Quality and Veterinary Advisory teams for their quality and reliability when used correctly on farm.

The Irish dairy industry has shifted away from chlorine based detergents and since April 2020 the use of chlorinated detergents is no longer permitted on GI supplying farms. All of the dairy detergents listed in the brochure are chlorine-free to ensure that we meet the highest milk quality standards.

The selection of teat care products in the brochure are strongly guided by Teagasc research that found chlorhexidine and lactic acid/chlorhexidine combination containing products to be the most effective against the main mastitis causing bacteria. Teat disinfectants play a vital role in mastitis control and prevention by lowering the bacterial load on the teat skin, thereby reducing new infection rates by up to 50%, which in turn lessens the need for antibiotic treatments and discarded milk. All the teat disinfectants in this brochure are ready-to-use, eliminating any dilution issues or water quality variability impacting their effectiveness.

All of the products in the brochure qualify for our extended credit offering and our Business and Branch Managers will provide full support on these products.
