Tirlán CountryLife Plant Pink Campaign raises over €15,000 for Breast Cancer Ireland

The Plant Pink Campaign was run in all 15 award-winning Tirlán CountryLife garden centres across Leinster and Munster and online at CountryLife.ie where customers were asked to buy a special ‘Tickled Pink’ Dianthus flower to support breast cancer awareness and the fundraising drive.

Tirlán CountryLife donated €2 to Breast Cancer Ireland for every one of the special ‘Tickled Pink’ Dianthus sold.

Aisling Hurley, CEO, Breast Cancer Ireland said “Initiatives such as Tirlán CountryLife’s Plant Pink campaign allows Breast Cancer Ireland to continue to fund pioneering research and awareness to transform the landscape of breast cancer in this country. Our relationship with Tirlán is a special one and we are so appreciative of the tireless efforts of employees, suppliers and the general public in supporting their worthy initiatives.”

Senan Foley, Head of Retail at Tirlán said, “This is a hugely proud day for us at Tirlán CountryLife to donate this money to Breast Cancer Ireland on behalf of our customers, suppliers and employees who took part in our Plant Pink Campaign. We would especially like to thank our plant supplier Young Nurseries who have supported us with the campaign from the beginning. We look forward to continuing our commitment to supporting and celebrating our local communities”.

This year’s Plant Pink Campaign has begun with €2 donated to Breast Cancer Ireland for every one of the special ‘Tickled Pink’ Dianthus plants sold. The sun-loving plant was chosen because of its beauty, its unmistakable perfume, its resilience and its sun-loving characteristics. The Pink Dianthus is grown in Limerick in a biologically friendly way with virtually no chemical pest control methods at the family-run Young Nurseries. To support Plant Pink you can buy the Tickled Pink Dianthus in your local Tirlán CountryLife store.
